Two more days

Things are getting busy around here, I have lots to do so rather than do it I will post here.

I have taken the week off to get ready for the wedding. It is nice to be able to do some of the things I think of right away rather than waiting until after work, when I really do not feel like bustling around.

Geoff and I picked Anne up from the airport on Saturday and we had my birthday celebration on Sunday. We ordered Thai food from our neighbour, Jude made a chocolate cake, it was all great. Jude, Anne and I drove to the city on Monday and shopped for a dress for me to wear to the wedding. We were successful right away! Went out for supper with Allison, Grace and Dallyn, and Sam, then to the Winspear to see Neko Case. Her concert was great, although I could have happily missed the opening act.

Jude had our Tuesday all mapped out for us, and the plan went like clockwork. Got the shopping we needed, Jude got her hair cut, Anne met with a former colleague and we visited George and Kay at their new place. It is very nice, they seem happy there, except Uncle George misses the view. The apartment is quite spacious and light. Can't beat the location, it is good they were able to stay in their old neighbourhood.

It was our anniversary Tuesday but Geoff had a meeting that night so we went out for supper last night to the Prairie Creek Inn,  lovely place with a great restaurant. Fine dining.

Geoff and Anne have gone to get Will in Calgary and Jude and I are just putting around. It's supposed to be nice today so will get the yard ready for the ceremony since it may rain tomorrow. I keep obsessively checking the weather for Saturday. It's not great so far but the forecast is getting better. All we need is about an hour rain-free. Surely that's not too much to ask.

Sick day

I have a torn rotator cuff in one shoulder, which flared up on the weekend when we were in Edmonton. Went to the walk-in clinic Monday night and was so relieved that the doctor knew right away what all the pain was about. I'm supposed to be resting it. He said to immediately stop doing anything that causes it to hurt or it may never heal. So I should have stayed home from work all week because I was in pain all the time. But someone was on holidays and it was month end, so I just went. But the holiday person is back today and month end is done, so I am taking a day (and the weekend) to rest the shoulder. It is feeling better.

Jude and I had a good visit in Edmonton on the weekend, got to see Laura and Allison plus Grace, Dallyn and Nancy (no Sam). Geoff and Tim went to Tim's stag in Windermere all weekend. Courtney's stagette is at her place tonight so Tim and the boys are coming over for a sleepover. Two more weeks till wedding day! The weather has got to start getting better now. It snowed last weekend; when I got home from the city there was snow on the ground. Surely that's the last of it.

Geoff is back at work, looks like it will be three days a week. So far it's going all right. His schedule is flexible so he can make sure he has 10% Tuesdays off, etc.

sing a song

For Richard to get home, so we can go out for supper. He doesn't know that we're going to see a movie about bears. It's a Disney one, but it looks pretty good.

Met with advisory committee. Every time I meet them, I have more work to do. This wasn't too bad, but I think I'm getting lazier. Or maybe I just don't have to do as much?

Cat is sleeping on me right now. Richard discovered that Sebastian is eating 1/2 of Nick's food. Which explains some things. So we have been feeding them separately. I think Sebastian has already lost some weight.

We are looking forward to our upcoming road trip. Do we take winter tires off the car?

Got 5 books from the library today. I've got some reading to do.

Work has thankfully slowed down quite a bit. The best thing that happened at work this week was this:

Walking down the hall, pt. In front of me started singing, "sing, sing a song".
I sang, " make it simple, to last the whole day long "
Pt. sang, "don't worry if it's not good enough for anyone else to hear".
We both sang, " just sing, sing a song".
Pt. gave me a big smile.
