Catching Up

I spent a couple of weeks housesitting at Grace and Dallyn's while they were on vacation. Beau went to a kennel so there was just me in the house.

I got some visiting in while I was there, caught up with relatives and friends. I met with Laura in Leduc and we went out for lunch at a Mexican restaurant called Habaneros. Really delicious, I had a shrimp dish that was fantastic. And just around the corner from there was the wool shop, so of course we had to visit that! Allison and I went to see the Indigenous Peoples Experience at Fort Edmonton Park. It was very thought provoking.

Sam and Nancy came over for supper one night. Nancy was very disappointed Beau was not there.

I also had lunch with Aunty Kay, Marylynn and Deanna. Marylynn has had a couple of appointments with cardiologists, but so far everything is fine. Dennis has to get a stent put in, not sure exactly when that is happening. Aunty Kay also told me that Elaine is contesting Johnny's will, apparently, she does not think his kids should get anything. Marylynn's daughter Ally is pregnant and due in March.

Brenda organized a lunch with all of her siblings, except for Bob, as he was working. I think the last time I saw all of them was at Lori's wedding. I had a good visit, nothing much new, all are well. After lunch I went over to Brenda's to see her new house. It is only three blocks away from where they grew up.

The weather was really nice while I was there. I picked Grace's tomatoes, most of them were green, but hopefully they will ripen in the house.

Theresa and I went to a concert at the Winspear, the opening act was Katie Pruitt and the main was the Milk Carton Kids. Both were excellent. The MCK have such great harmonies and are also very personable. We had supper before the show at Bistro Praha with Geoff and Sam.
