Goodbye to the Colp/Ferreys

It was really nice to have a visit from the Nova Scotians, even though it seemed to go by so quickly. Sim has gotten so big and very chatty. It was a pretty low-key visit, the weather was pretty good, not the high temperatures that the Fairhearts had but very pleasant. I went out to the lake with them, Will wanted to see if there were things he might want from the cabin, now it has sold.

Grace and Dallyn visited on the long weekend in September and we went out to the lake then too. Beau had a great time fetching sticks from the water.

Now summer has gone, it is feeling very fallish out, nice days and cool nights.

Sam was here this weekend, nice to see him again, and he took us all out for supper to Chi Mac, I had the Buncha, which is like the Vietnamese rice noodle bowl, except deconstructed, you get a plate with all the fixings and add them to the bowl yourself. Very tasty.

Uncle Fred and the Kidney March

I went to Calgary on Sunday to be at the finish line of the 100 Kilometer Kidney March to see Uncle Fred cross it. I met Christine, Rhonda, John, Brenda, Graham, Cal and Anita for brunch first. It was really great to see them all. I haven't seen Cal and Anita since Fred and Christine's 50th wedding anniversary in Medicine Hat. Everyone is so easy to talk to.

Anita has an aortic aneurysm that she will hopefully get fixed sometime after November. Her cancer is in remission and she gets another scan in November to get it checked up on. Brenda and Graham are moving to Edmonton at the end of week. Their new house is only 3 blocks away from where the Robins cousins grew up in the west end.

Crafty Rhonda made a cool sign for Uncle Fred and we all cheered and cheered when he came into view. Raeann, her husband Mitch and Hannah met us at the Olympic Park, so Uncle Fred had a big contingent of fans when he crossed the finish line.
