this was taken on a sunday picnic in Edmonton at a park along the river. It was either 1958 - fall or 1959 spring - Theresa's dress was a Woodwards $1.49 day special and Judes was a hand me down from big sis that Dads cousin Auntie Anne had given her - really cute. I think it was near the Groat Rd bridge
saddle shoes were very "in" but did tend to widen the feet. It was not Harwelik (sp) then for sure - I think he was in deep disgrace at the time for taking bribes or something - the folks of Edm were very forgiving and voted hizzonor in again later it is a weird year here too - record hot, record dry and now record cold - I feel for Geoff and am glad we had now snow - just frost that killed everything - 10
What colour were the dresses? It used to be called Mayfair Park, in the olden days. It is kind of hard to believe we were in the middle of the City, it looks like we were at a lake in the country. Were my shoes hand me downs too, or did I get new ones?
I thought this was taken at up north or something. I wish saddle shoes were back in style-I'd wear them. Or rather, wish I could find a pair, I'd wear them anyway.
Your dress was white with little blue flowers and Theresas was different shades of pink and rose (what a memory eh?) your shoes were also new - baby saddle shoes did not look so big for some reason

I think it was more the size of the feet than the size of the shoes that made mine look so big.
