resolution

Has anybody got a New Year's resolution? I wish mine could be that I won't do anything unless I want to. No doing things out of obligation. But I can't resolve that.

Well, if you feel like making a resolution is out of obligation, then you are on the right track right?
My resolution is to eat better.

I'm no longer making resolutions - one of the good things about being old, is you do please yourself more that when you're younger, altho the old duty thing still kicks in from time to time, but mostly I do what I choose

I have a list:
- lower hostility levels towards others (previous year's was 'destroy my enemies')
- try to establish routine around cooking at home & exercise
- try to establish routine to be at work earlier and so leave earlier

It's not as long a list as I had thought. I wish 'destroy my enemies' was my own idea, but I got it from someone else.

At a new year's party last year, we each wrote down a couple of 'resolutions' that other people ended up picking from a hat & having to resolve. The ones I picked were:

- Read the Old Testament in its entirety. Incorporate at least one story into your conversation / writing.
- You have something that belongs to someone else. You don't want to give it back because you are trying to avoid that person. Give. It. Back.
