Interview

OK, had my interview, think it went fine, but I am a very poor judge of that. Casual interview my ass! 3 people panelling me in an hour long interview is not casual. Especially when I found out about it the evening before. I am afraid to open my psych textbook to see if I answered anything wrong. I must have named about 20-30 different drugs. I am....worn out.
And I forgot to add...we bought a used truck. 1994 Nissan Kingcab 4X4. Only 135,000 kms. And too much money for a 1994 truck, but what can you do? Small, reliable trucks are pricey.
We can't pick it up until Sat., but I am excited about it!

That's nothing. I had a 1.5 hour interview to VOLUNTEER for the U's Student Distress Centre. They grilled me on everything from "What would you say to a suicidal person?" to "What is your opinion on abortion?" Family violence, homosexuality, drug use, rape, stress, spousal abuse, eating disorders... they were all covered.

Sam, that is excellent you are volunteering for the distress centre. Maybe they just wanted to establish your own distress level?

As a sensitive youngest, that hurts my feelings!

CONGRAULATIONS, Lisa!t

Well, I got accepted for training. But I'm not doing the training right now, because it requires 3 weekends in a row, including over Remembrance Day when I have a four-day weekend. And everybody will go home then, so there will be nobody to hang out with. So they're putting all my paperwork on file, and I'll think about it again in January, the next training session.
Pretty extensive - a long interview, criminal record and child welfare checks, calling 2 references, and a lengthy questionaire, and 64 hours of training. It's not the kind of thing you do casually.

Also, i recommend NOT saying to a suicidal person, "So, why don't you just finish the job properly?"

It is good to get some advice from a professional. I admire you Sam for even thinking about doing this.
