Will and Sam arrived home on Wednesday so that is the day we had Tim's birthday supper. It was also the day Tim finally got in to see the specialist, who was appalled at the time Tim had to wait for an appointment. Whatever. The doctor thinks he knows what's wrong, Tim had some blood work done here yesterday and now he and Will are back to Red Deer for another visit with the doctor. We are all hoping that there will be an answer today.
It's nice to have the boys back. Grace is supposed to arrive today and I think Anne is going to come down with Jude. The cold weather had broken but we have a lot of snow so it is Christmassy out.
Tim has decided on hardwood for his living room but he wanted new stuff so it will now be a darker colour which will look good. The kitchen is very close to being done - the new countertop, putting up the door and window mouldings. Will post the completed room. Once the hardwood is laid the living room will be almost done too.

I'm appalled at the length of time too
What does dr think it is?
And what will be done?
Just heard from Tim, the doctor says he has ulcerative colitis. So he has a prescription and sort of a plan of treatment. Not a great diagnosis but at least he knows what he is dealing with. From what I can tell, it is an inflammation so you take medication to calm the inflammation, but there is no cure although it may go into remission.
Yes, meds are the answer-steroids during flare ups, usually. And diet. And try to keep stress under control.
No wonder you felt so lousy Tim.
I hope your dr is helping you develop a good treatment plan and given you all the information you need. Any questions, ask.
I can't believe you went this long waiting for the colonoscopy. What on earth happened? Or didn't happen?
am glad that Tim finally has an answer - did he find out who dropped the ball on his appts? someone must have. its really too bad that there is no cure, just control, but at least he has something to go on and we can all hope it does a disappearing act on its own.
His house sounds lovely - am eagerly waiting for pics. feel that I shud have directed this post to you Tim - but mia culpa!
I see you may get yet more snow - at least it isnt really cold. Nice for all to be home together
Poor Timmy. But at least now he knows. And yes, I will be home to see the new hardwood with Jude on Dec 23!
Tim called the doctor's office often before his appt was scheduled. They told him he was on the urgent list, and when he finally got there, he saw the word "urgent" across the top of his file. He also the doctor doesn't seem to have any idea how his office works. Well, he is in the system now.
Yes, at least now it's done and he can do somethign about it instaed of waiting and feeling terrible with nothing to do about it.
I hope the medication works to decrease this flare up.
And then he can enjoy a bit of the holidays and turkey.
Hope you're feeling better Tim. You have good company as I believe that is what Auntie Barb was diagnosed with 2 oe 3 years ago.
