Knee Wars

My dr called yesterday to tell me that the x-ray on my knee shows that I have quite a bit of arthritis in two spots. So I guess I conceded knee victory to Lisa too soon. You didn't know you were in a war, did you Lisa?
Now I have to find out what to do next. The dr just left a message. Am I supposed to take medication? Can I use it without damaging it? Maybe the nurse in our group could help me with this.

I am not willing to concede defeat either-after all *I am* going to the specialist today, plus went to ER. After seeing the specialist, I will see about my on-going winning strategy.
For arthritis, use heat and Tylenol or ibruprofen for pain. Activity is good, but obviously don't want to do it to the extent that the knee hurts. Biking might be good, so long as aren't in a gear that puts stress on knee, swimming, or underwater walking. Walking (on land) is fine, so long as don't find knee hurting lots after. Of course, this is not meant to replace advice from your Dr.Who actually gave you no advice.

I could go to ER if I wanted to.

Well, sure, but would you have a note from your Dr approving it?

I don't need some doctor approving my visits to ER.

Theresa is in Alberta. No one tells US what to do!

True, no one has to get a dr. to give them a note. I will point out that it speeds the process along. But that's OK, do it the hard way if you want. Makes it quicker for those of us from BC.
