Question

If you could only choose 1 song to listen to for the rest of your life what would it be?

I pick Folsom Prison Blues by Johnny Cash

Right now I pick "The District Sleeps Alone Tonight" by the Postal Service. That might change. But if I could have the whole album, I'd be good to go.

I would have to have "Mud on the Tires" by Brad Paisley. It changes often though. Maybe something by Corb Lund? I do like "Rodeo's over"...

If I could only listen to one song for the rest of my life, I would have a short life. Because I'd probably kill myself or someone else on the island.

But maybe "Blind" by TV on the Radio would last a few months...

If I were smarter, it would probably be something really really really long - like a symphony by Mozart or somesuch. Seems like a 30+ minute song without insipid pop lyrics is more likely to stand the repeating. Since I am not that smart, or at least not that classically minded, 45 Years by Stan Rogers oddly enough comes to mind.

When I was in Gr. 7, Mr. Skage (remember him, Jude?) gave each of us a sheet of paper and told us to write our favourite song on it, all anonymous. The next day he lit into us because of our shallow replies. Most people had put "Crimson and Clover" by Tommy James and the Shondelles because it was what was being played on the radio at the time. Only a few put the right songs, such as Simon & Garfunkel songs. I put Crimson and Clover.

I ran out of room back there. Ever since then, I have shied away from revealing my soul by my choice of music.

Honest, we won't judge your soul.

Is it because you'd pick 'We Built This City'? The worst song ever.

Crimson and Clover??!! Horrible! I'm with your teacher. Sorry, mom.

But as I remember, you introduced me to Simon and Garfunkle for the first time in the car on the way to the orthodontist - so I think that should absolve you.

A sorry excuse. Though I grew up in the 80's so I should talk

I'd like to make a stand and say Crimson & Clover is a fine song.

Is that your favourite, or an example of bad music?

The other night I watched John Denver Remembered on PBS - all the favorites were on it and so I sat there and had a little weep-they amy not be my favorites but there are a lot of memories wrapped up in them

I am very fickle, and I change my mind at a very fast rate, but right now my favourite song would be Blue Boulevard, Dave Alvin (he is a bad boy) and the guilty men. I remember doing the same thing with Mr Skage when I was 13, but I picked Me and Bobby McGee, by Janis Joplin, he liked that one, and I am sure I have you to thank Theresa for buying the album, so I looked smarter than I was!!

I always want to call them Dave Alvin and the Chipmunks. Not a very good name for a bad boy.
