Stay at the Hotel Selkirk Fort Edmonton Park
A couple of years ago Sam and Grace gave me a stay at Hotel Selkirk, this year I got to take advantage of it.
I thought I could have supper there, but it turns out they don't do that anymore, do I decided to go to Vi's for Pies for supper. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which was delicious. They have a lovely little patio behind the restaurant and since it was a nice day I ate there.
To get to the hotel I had to check in at the guard hut, make sure my name was on the list to stay there. Mine was not but Sam's was so I passed that hurdle. My room was actually a suite, with a nice chair and lamp to sit and read by. There was also a couch, and as you can see by the picture table and chairs. The bed was king size and the bathroom had a claw foot tub. It was also the quietest hotel I have ever stayed in, zero traffic noise.
The next morning I had brunch in the hotel, with a discount because I am a senior. After brunch I walked around the park. When I've gone to the park in the past I always started at the fort so starting at 1920 Street was good, usually by the time I get there I am tired and don't pay as much attention to things so starting there was good.
I had a lovely time, and recommend a stay there.
